You Said What?!?
Like the way the zhuzh really made your wall decorations pop? Do you really get the rizz of that song they keep playing on the radio? Have no idea what I’m talking about? I won’t take it personally. Zhuzh ( noun : a small improvement, adjustment, or addition that completes the overall look, taste, etc. of something) and rizz (noun, slang : romantic appeal or charm) are two of the nearly 700 new words added to the reference source this year.
If this is the first time you’ve seen the word bussin’ (adjective, African American English slang : extremely good : excellent; especially : delicious, tasty) then, more than likely, you don’t need to be using it on the regular. Now, I’m not saying you’re not allowed to use it. I’m saying that before you use it, you know how to use it especially if you’re in a situation where it is critical that you effectively communicate.
Remember, we often only have one time to get it right in this world where
there are so many pulls on people’s attention and we don’t want to blow that chance to trying to use big, fancy, uncomfortable words that don’t fit you or your message? Same goes here. If you’re trying to get a message across, sell a product or cultivate a relationship, now is not the time to do your best verbal impersonation of an 80-year-old man in a track suit with 8 gold chains, sporting a medallion, with your hat cocked to the side, wearing shades that cover half of your face.
Nothing should be allowed to detract from your message. Nothing. I’d hate to see you miss out on any opportunity. Ngl (abbreviation, informal not gonna lie; not going to lie)
